Glenn’s musical journey started at an early age. With a music teacher mom, piano lessons were an essential part of growing up in the Boutté household. The record player often filled their home with masterful classical recordings, as well as jazz standards made popular by amazing singers like Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra and Johnny Mathis.

This early start laid the foundation for a life-long appreciation of music. Growing up in Fresno,CA, Glenn enjoyed playing keyboards in a small R&B band called “Magic” that played a variety of Top 40 covers, as well as some of the band’s own original songs. The positive response from the audience provided the motivation for Glenn and his bandmates to continue writing and performing original songs. In 1984, after several years of performing, Glenn put music on hold and moved to San Jose, CA to pursue an eight-to-five career.

Nearly three decades later, and with R&B still in his soul, the next chapter of Glenn’s musical journey began in earnest. He joined a Sacramento-based band called “Groove Elements” and a year later he joined a Tower of Power tribute band called “Bump City.” The tribute band was a particularly rewarding experience, due to the unique jazz/funk rhythms of Tower of Power’s music.

After five years of gigs, travel and sound-checks, Glenn decided to pursue a new challenge; he traded the keyboard for a microphone and started singing. And with some coaching and encouragement from jazz singer, Shelley Burns, he quickly got hooked on singing jazz standards.

The transition to jazz brought Glenn’s music life full-circle, as it was the beauty and brilliance of the standards that had initially sparked his interest in music. The release of “Falling for You” marks a new chapter. It represents Glenn’s appreciation for the songwriters and singers who have kept these timeless songs alive and well for so many decades, and it marks the beginning of his endeavor to showcase his own original songs.
